The city forest is a cultivated forestall area within the city of Krefeld. It is located in the city district of Bockum and comprises of an areal of 120 hectares (ha).

A very large Greenfield is located in the city forest of Krefeld with two football goals, a children's play ground, a large and branched lake area with pedal boats and lots of pathways. Within the city forest of Krefeld one of the most beautiful horse race course is located, also a golf course, a hockey field, as well as tennis courts. The Stadtwaldhaus with one of the largest beer gardens outside of Bavaria offers outside seating space for around 3.000 excursionists. This landscaped park was incorporated as an extraordinary park into the street of garden art at the Rhine and Maas in 2004/2005.
