The botanical garden is located at the border of the Schönwasserparks, which developed from 1927 until 1928 from a small scholl garden to a varied and attractively designed facility.

Today around 5.000 different plant species from all over the world grow in the botanical garden - in scientific departments and theme gardens. European, American and Asian conifer and leaf tress provide the external framework of the 3.6 ha garden facility.

Next to the rose garden with about 150 different rose species are according to the season areas for rhododendron, alpine and medical gardens with healing and also poisonous plants. These areas are the main attractions of in the outside environment.
